چکیده

The essence of the 21st century is knowledge economy. Knowledge has become the key resource of economic growth and social development. Construction industry is no exception. Because of information management. The only way to improve the level of construction project management is to set up a kind of effective knowledge accumulation mechanism. This paper first introduced the IFC standard and the concept of ontology. Then put forward the construction method of the architectural engineering domain ontology based on IFC. And finally build up the concepts, properties and the relationship between the concepts of the ontology. The deficiency of this paper is also pointed out.

Integration of Parametric Geometry into IFC-Bridge

IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) is the commonly accepted data exchange standard for Building Information Models (BIM). However, the geometric representation in IFC is restricted to explicit, extrusion and CSG (Constructive Solid Geometry) approaches. Accordingly, the exchange of parametric geometry between parametric design applications used in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construct...

Mapping of Industry Building Product Model for Thermal Simulation and Analysis

The Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) has established a standard for defining interchangeable data formats among various computer models in Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) domains. Researchers and practitioners are encouraged to make their data models compliant to the IFC standard through either adopting new data structures or creating bridges that can convert IFC data to be used by...

Iso 12006-2 and Ifc – Prerequisites for Coordination of Standards for Classification and Interoperability

There are two major candidates for Core Ontologies for the construction and facilities management sector, the ISO 12006-2 Framework for classification of information, and the Industry Foundation Classes, IFC. ISO 12006-2 has been developed to harmonize different national and regional classification systems. It is applied world wide in the development of classification systems for everyday use i...

Generic BIM queries based on the IFC object model using graph theory

In the architecture, engineering and construction industry, building information modeling (BIM) has emerged as a viable means to support information exchange and interoperability through open standards. As a technical basis, the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), an open, platform-independent ISO standard, are commonly used as a collaboration format for building information modeling. With recen...

Development and Application of a Product Model for Shield Tunnels

Building Information Modeling is a prevailing methodology in the building industry and half (by length) of the world's shield tunnels are in Japan. Accordingly, for shield tunnels from 2005 to 2007, we developed a product model called IFC-ShieldTunnel, which is based on Industry Foundation Classes (IFC), in order to meet the future demand for such a product model. IFC-ShieldTunnel was developed...
